ACCOUNTANT
The Kodak Theatre in Hollywood is looking for a highly qualified individual to join our dynamic team as an Accountant. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and will perform various accounting & financial duties in support of the long term Cirque du Soleil show "IRIS", as well as other miscellaneous theatre programming and operations.
The Accountant's duties will include a significant role in the Payroll department, as well as other responsibilities including Bank Reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Audit assistance. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, an ability to work under tight deadlines, a positive attitude, and a desire to learn with the ability to maintain a flexible approach to changing priorities. .
Duties:
- Process payroll for union & non-union employees
- Serve as the primary liaison with other departments on payroll matters
- Analyze accounting transactions, identify and correct inaccuracies
- AP/AR
- Reconcile vendor statements to vendor accounts
- Address, respond, and resolve issues related to payments, invoice credits, adjustments, and disputes with all AP vendors
- Prepare bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in other month-, quarter- and year-end duties
- Assist in special projects on an as-needed basis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Prior payroll experience in an union & non-union environment
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong computer skills including Excel and Word
- Ability to work as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Ability to work well within a confidential environment with sensitive information.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and well-organized.
- Good attitude and high degree of professionalism.
